Starting with the RGB colors of Petrus, N-2B, and 501, and more recently the gray limited-edition "Alida", the innovation and fashion sense of the C.F.S. series has become one of Vortex's most representative symbols. Through years of experience, the use of materials and data integration, "Lavinia" will become the pinnacle and breakthrough point of the entire C.F.S. series, with a distinct tonal direction that sets it apart from other models.
The original design direction of the C.F.S. series was to be portable, fashionable, with good tonal quality, and shielding functionality. However, when it comes to fashion, it is necessary to keep up with the times, and the previous RGB color scheme has become a thing of the past. "Lavinia" carries the revolutionary beginning of the entire series and breaks through with strong contrasting and vibrant colors, emphasizing the brand's unique style, giving rise to the Yama series.
"Breakthrough and Beginning"
Since the introduction of the 4.4 mm balanced terminal, the demand for precise signal transmission has increased. It is well known that shielded cables generally have a “quiet” background, but the high-frequency grounding can sometimes lead to a reduction in the sound, causing it to become muted. This is why some traditional players do not like the sound after grounding.
The reason for this is that the shielding can change with the potential difference of the main core, and while it absorbs external noise, some signals will also be absorbed by the shield at extremely high frequencies.
Vortex has innovatively used a cable with independently insulated outer skin and twisted the positive and negative poles to cancel out the effects of voltage changes.

In the world of HiFi cables, PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is one of the top insulating materials due to its excellent dielectric constant, which reduces the impact of the insulation layer on high frequencies while achieving a tighter low-frequency coherence.
Vortex uses technique of "air-injection" to create the insulation layer's outer skin using polyethylene. As 25% of the insulating material is air, the insulation layer even has a lower dielectric constant than PTFE, further reducing the accumulation of microcharges in the insulation material and making the high-frequency signal more accurate.

In addition to using air-injected polyethylene for the main insulation of the core and twisting the positive and negative poles, Vortex has also added a damping layer for the first time to counteract external vibrations and take the already quiet background to the next level.

Internal damping has been widely used in HiFi applications due to its significant effects, but it is rarely seen in headphone cables due to limited cable diameter. Conductors already occupy a large percentage of the cross-sectional area, adding a damping layer significantly increases the difficulty of production and manufacturing.

After years of research and development on headphone cables, Vortex has developed a proprietary golden cable ratio specifically designed for in-ear headphones.

Due to the skin effect, high-frequency signals tend to be transmitted on the surface of the conductor, so having thinner conductors with a larger relative surface area result in less distortion in the high-frequency range. Based on this principle, the core of the cable uses three different materials with diameters in a golden ratio to create unique channels for different frequencies to conduct.

The new Lavinia uses four metals - gold, silver, copper, and palladium - as the main components of the cable. After repeated experimentation by our cable structure engineers, pure silver, silver-plated palladium, single-crystal copper plated with gold, and pure silver plated with gold were combined in a 3:1.5:1.5:1 ratio using coaxial multiple reverse twisting technology, aiming to present the unique characteristics and advantages of each material in the most harmonious way possible.
